| Our neighbor has a hose reel like this one. We inquired as to the manufacturer because we thought it looked great. It was easy to install, however we used the actual reel for the template for wall attachment and not the box. The box was off a little, otherwise no problem with installation. The reel looks great and works great. |

| This is our second Ames bronze wall mount hose reel. The first is displayed in the front yard, this purchase is in the back yard. Don't bother with other reels as this is so durable and attractive. I use the small shelf on top of the reel to hold a hose nozzle, or fertilizer i'm going to use with my water from the garden hose-very handy. Easy to install. It's a great addition to our home. |

Agree with the other reviews. I have no idea how much my wife has spent over the years buying and replacing plastic hose reels, hose boxes, etc., but it is probably $1,000. When we moved to new house (last time or get new wife!), I had the task of moving all her hoses and stuff for watering all the plants and the pool. When I looked it over, it was clearly all nearly at the end of their lifecycle. Went to HomeDepot looking for a more permanent fix and on the upper shelf I spied this item from O-A. At $89 per, it was twice as much as another plastic fantastics with all their fancy advertisement laden boxes. However when I got one down and took it out of the box, this old retired engineer was smiling. I remember a similar reaction when I first saw O-A shovels in the Smithonian. I knew I had found my answer. Attractive, built smart and with the strength of a freight train (yeah, I know readers are thinking about the choices for wives...). Got two of them and later, two more (hose reels, not wives). Maybe my great grandkids will need to replace them, but not sooner. OBTW: Look in the box and read the guide so you know if you need to pick up a masonary bit and a ratchet with extension. Also check to see if you need to have the store swap out the some of the lead sinkers so they are all the same size and also the correct size. Folks mess with those all the time and not unusual for them to be all different sizes or smashed and buggered up due to customer frutzing around before returning it as 'too hard to do'.

| I picked this up at Lowe's for approximately $60 on sale. I'm actually surprised to see Amazon has it listed for $140. I see another reviewer commented, "The reel is very stiff." Not sure what specifically he is referring to as I found the reel to rotate smoothly. In fact, I doubt you'd find a reel that operates smoother. I would agree that it is nearly impossible to locate a 9/16" masonry drill bit to mount the masonry anchors. I had to spend an additional $5 to purchase 4 1/2" masonry anchors. These worked well in place of the anchors that came with the product. For that I deduct one star from an otherwise excellent product. |

| I've only had it installed for less than a month, but I love how steady the unit is (better be - affixed to my house). RAPIDLY rewinds hose easily without fighting (compared to plastic box units that sit on the ground). Being cast Aluminum, should really last. |
