This is a very high quality well manufactured hose reel. I would recommend this to anyone - and may purchase a second one as I am so satisfied with the quality.

This unit is definitely built solidly. The castings are good quality and the connectors are good quality. The thing I miss is the hose guide that I had on my previous Hose King reel. However, I am happy to give it up in order to have something that will last longer than the four years the Hose King lasted. And besides, it looks very nice.

Recieved the reel as promised, easy to install and works great. I like the attachment to the hose, much better than others I have had.
Far Superior to Any Plastic Reel

Reviewer: Dan Dalton,
About 10 years ago I bought 2 "heavy duty" plastic reels, one for the front and one for the back of my house. I drilled holes in my brick and mounted them to the wall. They worked fine for several years, and I loved them while they lasted. However, after about 9-10 years the one in front developed thousands of tiny cracks and the next thing I knew it splintered into dozens of pieces and literally fell apart. The one in the back gets less sun and has lasted a year or two longer, but I just noticed that it is now full of tiny cracks and is on the verge of falling apart.

I replaced my front plastic reel with this cast cast aluminum reel a couple of years ago. I bought a carbide masonry drill bit at Lowes to drill holes in my brick to mount it. The wall anchors were super strong, and I'm sure that they will NEVER come loose like my old 1/4-inch lead ones used to.

The reel came with heavy-duty brass fittings, has worked flawlessly and looks fantastic. It is much stronger than my old plastic reel and only costs about 30% more. In my mind no plastic reel can possibly compare with the quality, strength, longevity, and aesthetics of this reel. I'm planning to replace my back reel with one of these this summer.

The only down side is that it only holds 125 feet of hose. I wish they made a larger size...
